Rev. Ed Hird - Rector

Reverend Ed Hird has been the Rector for St. Simon's Church NV since 1987, having been ordained in 1980. Ed has also served at St. Philip's Vancouver and St. Matthew's Abbotsford. Ed and his wife Janice have three boys: James, Mark and Andrew. He is also the National Chaplain and Past President for Alpha Canada. He once served as the National Chair for Anglican Renewal Ministries of during which he was one of three co-signers of the Montreal Declarations of Anglican Essentials.

For the past 22 years, Ed has been privileged to write over 280 articles as a columnist on spiritual issues for local North Vancouver newspapers. In the last number of years, Ed has had the opportunity to lead conferences and retreats in the Honduras, Washington State, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Toronto.

Ed is also the author of the book, "Battle for the Soul of Canada" which blends in Canadian history with the writings of the Apostle Paul to Timothy.

Darrell Lim - Family Pastor

Darrell was recently added to the staff of St. Simon's in the role of Family Pastor.
Having grown up on the North Shore, Darrell came to know about the love of Christ through local summer camps hosted by the ministry of Young Life. After high school, Darrell studied at Simon Fraser University where he completed a social sciences degree and later worked for several years in business management. In 2005, he moved to Caronport, SK to study at Briercrest Seminary and has since obtained his Master's degree in Organizational Leadership.

He met Rev. Ed in 2008 while doing research for his thesis and was impressed with Ed's commitment to community, passion for mission and dedication to raising up leaders. When the opportunity to work with him became available, he made the decision to apply to work at St. Simon's Church NV. Darrell and his wife, Cheryl have two children. They have a heart to see families grow by providing supportive community and friendship. They are enthusiastic about extravagant hospitality and hope to share their ideas and passion with others within the community.

Jill Cardwell - Youth Pastor

Jill's spiritual journey started in the church-based culture of Northern Ireland where she grew up. Despite various Christian influences of youth fellowship and summer clubs, it wasn't until November 2004 at an Alpha retreat here in Canada that she committed her life to Christ.
She has served as a Ministry Leader for Young Adults and has been involved previously with youth retreats and camps, as well as art productions with theatres, circus & film companies in the UK and in Vancouver. She is currently studying at Regent College and is working with building the youth ministry at St. Simon's Church NV.
